STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX describes the globally standardised testing and certifying system for textile products that have been tested for harmful substances. It applies to raw, intermediate and end products as well. Products are hence subjected to extensive and frequent tests. The production chain is equally monitored. Clothing and textile products certified with the STANDARD 100 are ecologically harmless, as all components – i.e. everything from yarn to buttons – have been tested for harmful substances.In order to receive the certification, the textile products have to comply with all criteria. According to these criteria, the use of cancer-provoking and allergenic substances, pesticides and washable heavy metals is prohibited or at least restricted. The certification ensures a sustainable sensitisation and consumer safety.
